Description

The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features stories about the deaths of 32 miners in a collapsed Pennsylvania mine, a marriage between a forty-five year old groom and his eleven year old bride in Cincinnati, a drunken census enumerator in Indianapolis, and more. On the fourth page there is a section titled Current Science that covers recent developments in science and technology around the world. Also included in this issue are local and regional news as well as advertisements.
