Description

This is the first in a series of interviews with Dr. John J. Halki, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this first interview, Dr. Halki discusses his background and career in the Air Force prior to his appointment as a department chair at the Wright State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Halki traces his career in the Air Force, focusing on the different phases in his practice of medicine. He discusses his practice and life as an Air Force doctor; his entry into academic medicine and subsequent teaching appointments; and the later phases of his career as a medical administrator, leading up to his appointment as Commander, USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson.

Dr. Halki then discusses his position and responsibilities as the USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson Commander, and begins a discussion of the integration of medical education programs between USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson and the Wright State University School of Medicine.
