Description

This is the fourth in a series of interviews with Dr. John J. Halki, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview, Dr. Halki begins an examination of the functions of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology as one of the clinical teaching departments of the School of Medicine.

Dr. Halki begins with a brief discussion of the four divisions of the Department. He discusses their administration and how they were developed. He examines the staffing model for the Department and how they are tied to the clinical operations of the hospitals at which they are situated. Dr. Halki also discusses his responsibilities as Department Chairman and the research being done in the Department.

In the second part of this interview, Dr. Halki examines the education functions of the department. Topics covered include: the Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency; the undergraduate curricula for Biennium I and Biennium II; and the Selectives offered by the Department.

Dr. Halki closes the interview with a discussion of the operating committees of the Department.
