Description

The photograph is of Edward Korn sitting at the controls of a homemade monoplane while his brother Milton stands behind the plane with his hand on the propeller in a field near Snider Road by Jackson Center, Shelby County, Ohio in July, 1911. The aircraft wing span was 34 feet, it weighed 650 pounds, and it was powered by a 50 horsepower Roberts 4 cylinder 2 cycle engine. This photograph is part of the MS-220 Edward A. Korn Collection.
