The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features a story about miners trapped in a collapsed mine in Pennsylvania, an update on the bill to use silver as United States coin, and more. On the fourth page there is a reprint of an article from the Philadelphia Record about the possibility of capitalists in Philadelphia building a giant refrigeration factory that will pump chilled air into homes like gas and water. Also included in this issue are anecdotes, local and regional news, and advertisements.
