The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features stories about mummies found on a farm in West Virginia, a fire on a steamship in Philadelphia, a school house in South Dakota struck by lightning, and more. On the fourth page there is a new section called Women's World, intended to cover topics appealing to women of the time. Also included in this issue are anecdotes, local and regional news, and advertisements.
