Description

The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features stories about the five Central American countries preparing for war against El Salvador, a trip by Captain W.J. McGee of the Unites States Engineer Corps, from New Orleans to Dubuque, Iowa on horseback, an attempts in Buenos Aires to overthrow the government, and more. On the second page there is a short blurb and illustration of a new lock that prevents the use of a skeleton key. Also included in this issue are local and regional news as well as advertisements.
