Abstract
Esparto grass plays a pivotal role in maintaining pastoral equilibrium and combating desertification in North Africa. With its economic and social significance, esparto grass serves as a versatile resource, primarily as a raw material for various products. These natural fibers find applications across industries such as textiles, technology, and medicine. The growing use of this renewable resource serves as a driving force for the development of sustainable products, particularly fully biodegradable composites suitable for technical and engineering purposes. Industrially, esparto grass finds economic use as a raw material for paper production and composite materials, contributing to the creation of high-energy materials using bio-resources like microcrystalline and emergent cellulose. Esparto grass emerges as a natural, renewable, and biodegradable raw material, aligning with global movements toward sustainable development. The increased incorporation of esparto fibers into industrial processes reflects a promising step toward the creation of competitively innovative and eco-friendly industrial products.
