Abstract
The paper discusses the potential of various dispersoid systems to improve mechanical behavior, particularly elevated temperature performance. A model all-alpha system, Ti-5Al-2. 5Sn, containing Si, Ge, and rare earth additions was chosen for study. Material was characterized in both the as-consolidated and consolidated and hot isostatically pressed (HIP) conditions. HIPing reduced the volume fraction of pores.
