Description

James Allen, Chief Signal Officer of the United States Army, is reading a speech at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration medals ceremony held on the morning of Friday June 18, 1909 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Brigadier General Allen was sent to present the Congressional Medals to Wilbur and Orville Wright. In the background, there is a large crowd and children are dressed in red, white, and blue to form a United States of America flag.
