Description
Bishop Milton and Lorin Wright are looking on as Orville and Wilbur Wright take part in the opening ceremonies during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration on the morning of June 17, 1909. A herald is assisting Orville from his seat while the spectators at the ceremony look on. The opening ceremonies were held at Van Cleve Park (also known historically as Newcom Park or the Log Cabin Park), which is now RiverScape MetroPark. Members of the Ten Dayton Boys Club, specifically Wilbur Landis, can be seen in the background behind Lorin Wright.
