The first controlled, powered, heavier-than-air flight. Orville Wright pilots the Wright 1903 Flyer while Wilbur runs and watches the take off. Note on reverse in Orville's handwriting "First Wright power-driven aeroplane just leaving the ground at Kitty Hawk, N.C. Dec 17 - 1903."
