Description

The photograph is of Claude Grahame-White flying a Nieuport monoplane with a number three on the tail above the exhibition field at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911. The meet was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. Grahame-Whites identification number for the meet was three. In the background spectators can be seen sitting in the grand stands and lined up by automobiles. An unidentified person is standing in the foreground on the left side of the image.
