Description
From the Dayton Daily News: "This black and yellow Waco Model D biplane, as sleek and shiny as the day it rolled out of the Troy factory in 1934, has just been, judged the best restored antique airplane in the United States. Owner John W. Church, shown with trophy he won at the Antique Aircraft association fly-in, found it in a Hamilton dentist's garage just over a year ago and had it painstakingly restored. It is the only one of it kind ever licensed in the United States. Based at South Dayton airport along with eight other biplanes, the Waco D was picked over 200 other entries at the national fly-in."
