Description

Rolla E. Malan (DOB: July 4, 1920) enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1939. Malan served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Preble, a minelayer. He was in Pearl Harbor during the December 7, 1941 attack. For his service, Malan was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. Malan was discharged from the Navy in 1946 at the rank of Machinist's Mate First Class (MM1c).
