Abstract

Explored is the potential of women's centers and women's centers working together with women's studies programs to bring about meaningful changes in the form and content of women's higher education. Factors that inhibit the realization of this potential are addressed, and suggestions are offered on how these factors might be diminished and the effectiveness of women's centers increased. Ways in which the Women's Educational Equity Project at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst can assist women's centers in becoming more effective are reported. Only campus-based centers are considered, and programs from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst are used as illustrations.
