MS-1: Wright Brothers Collection
The marble marker erected near Bill Tate's house by the citizens of Kitty Hawk commemorating the site where the Wright Brothers began assembling the 1900 glider. At the top is the 1900 glider. The inscription below reads "On this spot August 17th 1900, Wilbur Wright began the assembly of the Wright Brothers first experimental glider, which led to mans conquest of the air. Erected by the citizens of Kitty Hawk N.C. 1928."
