Description
Dayton Mayor Edward E. Burkhart, Ohio Governor Judson Harmon, General James Allen of the United States Army Signal Corps, along with other distinguished guests, are on stage at the medals ceremony during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. The ceremony was held on the morning of Friday June 18, 1909 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. In the foreground, a photographer is using a large format field camera to photograph the group. In the grandstands, school children are clothed in red, white, and blue to form a United States of America flag.
