Description

William Gregory (DOB: August 4, 1920) enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in September 1941 and received his commission in April 1942 after completing pilot training. He served in the 83rd and 49th fighter squadron during World War 2. Mr. Gregory flew numerous missions during the Second World War and served as a flight instructor. He also flew bomber planes and was involved in the U2 program helping to locate missiles in Cuba during The Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Gregory retired form the United States Air Force in 1975 as a Colonel.
