Nomination Policies
Who May NominateOnly faculty may submit nominations of writing produced by students in Integrated Writing courses they have taught at Wright State University. Nominations are open to both the main and Lake campuses, for IW courses both in the Core and in the major, taught during approximately the past year. Students should not submit their own work, though they may be directed through the process by faculty.
What to NominateNominations may include essays, posters, multimedia projects, or other work that involves writing. Collaborative work is OK. Nominated work should demonstrate excellent writing and characteristics of writing expected in the IW course, in the discipline, or for other reasons determined by faculty making nominations.
PreferencesPlease send no more than 3 nominations per faculty member per academic year, unless other arrangements are made.
Preferred: Submit students’ work as a Word file. PDF is OK if Word is not available. Submit with students’ knowledge and permission.
Acceptance PoliciesA nomination does not guarantee acceptance of a student’s work for the journal. An editor and editorial board will make selections. Especially useful would be brief comments about why the piece is exemplary; faculty or editorial comments may be included in the journal. Student permission will be required before a work is included in the journal. Permissions can be perused by the editorial board with sufficient contact information.
DeadlinesOpen, or query to discuss. Nomination of work may be held for consideration in a subsequent year’s journal.
