Description

The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features stories about a strike preventing the Columbus Consolidated Street Railway from starting their cars, a selection of news from Indianapolis, the House passing a dependent pension bill that would distribute 35 million dollars to poor soldiers, and more. On the second page there is a short note about the firm in Germany making a new type of carriage motor powered by benzene or a similar material. Also included in this issue are anecdotes, local and regional news, and advertisements.
