The Evening Item was a daily newspaper published by the Wright Brothers' Company, Item Publishing Co. This paper, published from April 1890 through July 1890, focused on world and local events. The front page of this issue features stories about the Banco Nacional of the Argentine Republic failing, news from the United States Senate and House of Representatives, a 55-year-old man committing the statutory rape a 7-year-old girl in Alliance, Ohio, and more.
