Description

The photograph shows cadets and faculty posed on chairs, steps, and the lawn by the entrance to the Miami Military Institute, Germantown, Ohio, ca. 1900. Cadets are wearing various uniforms, including dress and fatigue. A cadet seated by the corner of the porch has a United States flag draped across his lap. The man standing near the corner of the school building is Orvon Graff Brown, founder and president of Miami Military Institute. Behind the cadets on the lawn is a free standing pyramid of rifles with a sword attached to one side. This photo is from an album in the Martha McClellan Brown Collection.
