    Description

    The photograph shows Miami Military Institute cadets and faculty posed in front of and on the horse-drawn excursion wagon, which was used for extracurricular activities such as fishing trips, picnics, and visits to points of interest, ca. 1900. The man standing, right, is Orvon Graff Brown, founder and president of Miami Military Institute. James Henry "Henry" Fillmore, Jr. is the second cadet from the right laying on the ground. The cadets are wearing service uniforms and two cadets are holding bugles. The group photograph is taken beside the school building and is from an album in the Martha McClellan Brown Collection.
