The Notorious Criminal File contains documentation created or collected by the Dayton (Ohio) Police Department concerning individuals identified by the department as notorious criminals. The digitized material includes mug shots, arrest records, wanted posters, police reports, informant statements, arresting officers’ reports, and correspondence with other law-enforcement agencies. The gangster criminals represented in the collection include Clyde Barrow, Alfred Brady, Pretty Boy Floyd, Alfred George Fouts, John “Peanuts” Gourmey, Bugs Moran, Virgil Summers, and John Dillinger. The Dillinger file includes documentation on his capture and arrest in Dayton, Ohio on September 22, 1933.
