MS-192: Andrew S. Iddings Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration Collection

Description

The image shows brigades of school boys dressed in various uniforms and marching in the parade during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. The second brigade of school boys is wearing colonial uniforms and holding a sign that reads, "Wroming Schools" and the remainder of the sign is out of focus. The boys are marching through a residential portion of the city near downtown Dayton, Ohio and are being viewed by spectators who line the sides of the streets. This was the last marching section of the parade and the history of locomotion in America followed.
