Description

The image shows soldiers from the Second Infantry Regiment of the United States Army marching in the parade during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. The soldiers were under the command of Colonel Francis Mansfield and marched to Dayton, Ohio from Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. Colonel Mansfield is riding the horse on the right side of the photograph in the front row. A crowd lines both sides of the street to view the parade in a residential area of Dayton, Ohio. In the background are homes decorated for the parade with United States flags.
