MS-192: Andrew S. Iddings Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration Collection

Description

The image shows the private box seating area in the Court of Honor at the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration parade on Friday June 18, 1909. An American flag and oversized photos of the Wright Brothers can be seen in a window behind the stand along with other window displays. A group of people are standing in the center of the image in front of box 69. The elderly man with glasses and a white hat at the center of the image resembles James Whitcomb Riley who was attending the parade and sat in private box seating with the Callahan family. They are standing in front of the Chas. E. Underwood store at 29 and 31 North Main Street.
