Description
The Wright 1903 Flyer following the fourth flight at Kill Devil Hills. The front elevator support was broken due to a hard landing. The main frame suffered no damage. Anonymous note on the reverse, "Dec. 17 1903 Plane after gust of wind turned it over." However, this image was taken before the plane was rolled across the beach by the wind. Cropped enlargement from 16-3-2.
