Description
Photograph of launching derrick at Camp d'Auvours. The weight is suspended at the highest position before take off. The Wright 1907 Model Flyer is seen at the right of the photo. Once the pilot is ready, he releases the rope from within the plane, launching it at flight speed. >From the Leon Bollee Album presented to Orville Wright July 17, 1920. This photograph was taken between 08/21/1908 and 01/02/1909.
