Description

Photo of Wilbur Wright installing the launching derricks at Camp d'Auvours. The tower stood at 20 feet and once the 1600 lb. weight was added to the ropes in the middle, the system was designed to help the plane reach flight speed to get off the ground. From the Leon Bollee Album presented to Orville Wright July 17, 1920. This photograph was taken between 08/21/1908 and 01/02/1909.
