The photograph is of John Fitzgerald, Mayor of Boston, sitting at the controls of a Burgess-Wright biplane. The image was taken at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from September 3-13, 1910 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society. In the background people are walking behind the plane. The image is the same as item number ms338_02_10 in the form of a glass plate negative.
