Description
The photograph is of spectators cheering and waving hats in the air at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. John Fitzgerald, the Mayor of Boston, with his back to the camera, and Adelaide Ovington, wife of Earle Ovington, standing on a chair, are in the center of image. The image is the same as item number ms338_03_03 which is in the form of a glass plate negative.
