Description
The photograph is of Lincoln Beachey at the controls of a Curtiss aircraft with a number two on the tail at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. A person is laying on the ground directly behind the Curtiss aircraft that Beachey is moving. In the background is another biplane with several people standing near it as well as spectators sitting in automobiles.
