Description

The photograph shows Claude Grahame-White's Farman biplane after a second failed attempt to fly from London to Manchester. Grahame-White was competing against a French pilot named Louis Paulhan and left on April 27, 1910 from London. Grahame-White was forced to land at Whittington after a daring night flight. The photograph shows the Farman biplane with a group of spectators standing around the plane.
