Description
The photograph is of a Wright Model B Hydroaeroplane with a small triangular flag on the left wing being moved down ramps to the water at Glen Head, New York in September, 1912. Charles Wald sits at the controls of the airplane as two men guide the plane down the ramps with two large boards while two other men are squatting near the tail of the airplane and watch as the plane goes down the ramps. A barge and small life boat are floating on the water in the background. The number 41 is written on the lower left corner of the negative. This item is part of the MS-355 Charles Wald Collection.
