SC-381: Louis Lott Architecture Negatives
Description
Garden in the House of Marcus Lucretius Fronto (Casa di Marco Lucrezio Frontone), in the ancient ruins at Pompeii, Italy. The garden includes sixteen sculptures placed in front of a stepped nymphaeum and around a circular pool. The statues included satyrs, animals, and four Janiform herms. In this photo, taken prior to 1934, some statues that were later damaged, can still be seen in a better, or more complete, condition - particularly the statue of the man with the dog.
