Abstract
The solubility of 11 gases in cyclooctane has been determined at atmospheric pressure in the range 289 to 313 K. From the results partial molar Gibbs energy, enthalpy, and entropy of solution for 1 atm partial pressure of gas and 298.15 K have been extracted. Comparison with results obtained through application of scaled-particle theory showed satisfactory agreement.
