Abstract
This chapter is from the book The Effectiveness of Innovative Strategies in the Treatment of Drug Abuse, which builds on the editors' previous works Drug Abuse Treatment: The Implementation of Innovative Approaches (Greenwood, 1994) and Innovative Approaches in the Treatment of Drug Abuse: Program Models and Strategies (Greenwood, 1993). This new book carries the study further by looking at the effectiveness of these treatment approaches. The essays represent an effort to systematically integrate science and practice in order to improve drug abuse treatment.
