Abstract
This study measures the economic impact of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) hospitals. Measurement of the economic impact employs total expenditures, full-time equivalent employment and the total payroll generated by the GDAHA hospitals in the healthcare industry and ripple effect in the supporting and related industries in the Greater Dayton Area. This study uses input-output analysis with IMPLAN multipliers as a methodology to measure the economic impact of the GDAHA hospitals in Dayton, Ohio. The results of this study indicate that the hospitals generate a substantial amount of output, employment, payroll, and community benefits in the Greater Dayton Area.
