Abstract
The authors consider the problem of identification of discrete domain transfer functions from the measured impulse response data. Unlike the existing techniques that require that the degree of numerator polynomial be strictly less than that of the denominator, the authors develop a theoretical basis for the case when both the numerator and the denominator have the same degree. Based on the proposed theoretical basis, an efficient computational algorithm is developed and illustrated by means of several examples.
