Abstract
An essay on the Kala Pani modern aesthetics in the fiction and poetry of Rooplall Monar is presented. It offers a review of the consistent goal of Monar in his writings and examines how he acknowledges the Indian culture that has been preserved while demonstrating the cultural tensions. The author relates the aesthetic baptism of Monar that reflects the remake of an Indo-Creole subject in a masculinist tradition.
