Abstract

The restructuring of primary health care is key to health care reform in ensuring access to care and controlling costs for an expanding patient population. Primary care medical group practices have an opportunity to play a lead role in this transition because they understand the influence of primary care on the use and effectiveness of the entire health care system and their practices have the administrative capacity to develop new models.
