Abstract
A field-theoretical renormalisation group method is used to investigate the possible existence of multicritical points in the phase diagram of a ferromagnetic superconductor, which is described by a free energy functional with electromagnetic coupling between the magnetic and superconducting order parameters. The lack of stable fixed points indicates no multicritical behaviour in contrast to the predictions by Horneich and Schuster (1979).
