Abstract
This chapter reviews developmental studies of eyeblink conditioning in rodents and humans that have been pursued from a multiple memory systems perspective. It extends previous summaries of the ontogeny of eyeblink conditioning in humans and in rodents, including previous rodent research on multiple memory systems. Past and current views of multiple memory systems, including developmental views, are reviewed and how studies of eyeblink conditioning can advance research in this area is shown. Research in developing rodents and humans is then described and some general conclusions are presented.
