    Description

    The photograph shows the Miami Military Institute cadets in field, performing dress parade, 1905. Two cadets are in the front, left, with bugles. Two rows of cadets with rifles follow, passing in front of faculty. Caption on the photo reads "NO. 5 A. DRESS PARADE. M.M.I. 05.". The cadets are wearing dress uniforms. The cadet standing by the faculty is Kleon Thaw Brown the youngest brother of Orvon Graff Brown. Orvon Graff Brown, founder and president of the Miami Military Institute, is the first faculty member on the far right side of the back row. The cadets are passing in review in the field that is now known as Veterans Memorial Park. The faculty are standing on Warren Street and the entrance to the Miami Military Institute is on the right side of the image. This photo is from an album in the Martha McClellan Brown Collection.
