Description
The photograph shows Miami Military Institute cadets in dress uniform with weapons forming a line in front of shops on Third Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, ca. 1905. In the background are storefront windows and signs for the Imperial Hotel located at the northeast corner of Third Street and Central, the John Schlenker Barber Shop at 332 West Third Street, the Cincinnati Exhaust and Blow Pipe Company located at 330-324 West Third Street, J. A. Trautman and Company Millwrights and Machinists shop located at 322 West Third Street, and Merkel Brothers Plumbing Supply at 320-318 West Third Street. Other signs located near the shops are, "Globe Laundry Pound Work 5 Cents" attached to a barber's pole and a "For Rent" sign. Groups of bystanders near shop doorways are observing the cadets.
