MS-192: Andrew S. Iddings Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration Collection
Description
The image shows spectators, in the private box seats numbered 70, 69, and 68, who were watching the parade through Dayton, Ohio during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. The image is centered on a young woman with a large white bow in her hair sitting with an elderly man looking at a program. Another young woman and older woman are sitting with them. The man in the center of the image resembles James Whitcomb Riley who was at the parade on June 18 and sat in a private box seat with the Callahan family. In the background are buildings decorated for the event and other spectators. The image is taken in front of the Chas. E. Underwood Confectioner store at 29 and 31 North Main Street.
