MS-192: Andrew S. Iddings Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration Collection

Description

The image shows spectators, in private box seating numbered 69 and 68, who are watching the parade through Dayton, Ohio during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration. The image is centered on an elderly man seated sideways talking with two young women. The box seats surrounding them are crowded with people. The older man in the center of the image resembles James Whitcomb Riley who was at the parade on June 18 and sitting in a private box seat with the Callahan family. The image is taken in front of the Chas. E. Underwood Confectioner store at 29 and 31 North Main Street.
