Description

Note on verso, "Start of speed trial of the Wright 1909 Signal Corps Flyer at Fort Myer." On July 30, 1909, Orville Wright with Lt Foulois make a speed trial from Fort Myer to Shuter's Hill, near Alexandria. His average speed was 42.583 miles per hour for the 10 mile round trip.
